New Year's Hair Resolutions

Well I'm late again. There was some definte underprocessing with this last touch-up. I rinsed out my conditioner and blew my hair dry. Then my mother used a pressing comb to straighten my roots further. I used a flatiron to bump my ends and that was it. I have decided to go to a hairdresser in 2 weeks to let them do my hair and in 6 more weeks give me another touch-up. I'll let them correct the underprocessing.

I didn't lose any more hair than usual, but that's not saying that much. I've been experiencing extra shedding/breakage for a little while now. In fact, I don't think I mentioned the fact that my edges are thinning. This seems to run in my family. My grandmothers hair was very thin and she had a bald area at the crown of her head. My mother also has some bald spots and overall thinning. Since, wearing wigs the hair that she has, has grown quite long though. At any rate, it seems that my hair is now thinning. I will be turning 27 on December 11 so I guess it's about that time. So my next goal is to minimize that thinning and to maintain the hair that I currently have.

I'm considering using Rogaine for women, but I know that there are side effects and that I'd pretty much have to use this product forever. So, I first need to see a dermatologist. Don't know when that will be... I don't have health insurance. Hopefully, that will change very soon. At any rate this issue is at the top of my list.

This brings me to my Hair Resolutions for the new year:
1. Find a new hairdresser that I trust to do relaxer touch-ups and trims.
2. Get a major trim so that I can start fresh.
3. Minimize or even eliminate the use of direct heat on my hair.
4. Learn to roller set my hair.
5. Wear more protective hairstyles.
6. Find ways to stimulate hair growth.
7. Pamper my edges so that they will grow as long as possible.

Wish me luck!
